Hello everyone. I may have made a rather silly rookie mistake while disassembling my Crosman 1377. I was removing the handle from the tube that contains the valve and piston and a little spring and ball bearing came flying out of the handle assembly. As far as I can tell, they must be used to keep the safety in either the "safe" or "fire" position, and to keep it from flopping back and forth. I'm having trouble finding out exactly how they fit back in there, or where exactly they go :oops: . I can try to post some pics later, if it would help to clarify the problem. I knew if anyone could help bail me out, it would be you guys! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

first were you lucky to find the little buggers ?

if so hold your grip in the normal positing as if your firing it place your safety through make sure the cutout slot is facing down toward the trigger now there is a small slot left of the front of the sheer first drop in the little bearing then the spring and when mounting it to the body don't tip it upside down line it up first then turn it and put in the screws hope that made sens. if not watch this vid it should help good luck.
i hate that little spring and bearing. :x

There is a pocket that is formed when the side cover and trigger frame join, just above the safety channel. Put the safety in position, drop the ball in, spring on top and marry your frame and tube together and voila.

Remember, when disassembling, keep the trigger frame upright and just lift the tube off of the trigger frame. They are not fun to try to find if they fly out of place.

Thanks for the help guys. I guess I'm not the first one this has happened to! After it was explained, I looked at the gun, and it totally makes sense. Everyone who has helped me out on this could possibly have saved the ol' 1377 from the "spare parts" pile on the workbench. For that, I am grateful. :D

I don't like the safety on these gun,s. I'm left handed and sometimes set the safety by accident, so I remove mine. If you do ever lose the spring, a propane lighter, the clear dollar store ones have a spring that fit,s.

I'm a lefty too so after losing the little ball I decided to use a small drop of Goop, that clear rubbery stuff from C.T.to hold it in the off position.

A small dollup of grease on the spring and ball before re assembly will prevent them from "un planned departure" in the future. :wink:

Would choose to remove it completely rather than glue it in place...personal preference.

true....but small dot of "goop" pulls off neatly with pliers but yeah grease is good.

as mentions by Joe you can use the spring from a dollar store lighter and if you lose that dreaded little bearing you can also get a dollar store nail clipper with the little bearing chain link that they come with just make sure there the small clippers. Clip one bearing off and your good as gold again lol...gatta love the dollar store :lol: :wink:
