Good day guys I want to pick some brains out there I got me a crosman 114 the other day gun is in very nice shape and yesterday I got it filled and tried it out, the first shot was very strong and loud and gun has no leaks. So my question is on the owners manual it says you get about 75 shots on a full fill i found that to be hight but thats what it says well I'm not getting anywhere near that I got like 20 maybe if that and then I tried HPA and got a very disappointing 5 shots. So what could be wrong with this thing before I decide to open her up and remove the valve and have a look inside any insight or help would be appreciated. Thanks

Are you sure you are getting liquid CO2 into the gun?.... If you are only filling it with CO2 gas, 5 shots is about right.... You have to fill from an inverted tank or a tank equipped with a "dip tube" to pick up the liquid from the bottom of the tank.... Putting a bit of CO2 in the gun and then venting it (once) to cool the gun before doing your fill will increase the amount of liquid CO2 you can get into the gun.... Overcooling the gun could lead to overfilling it, which can cause dangerous pressures when it warms up.... Ideally it should be filled by weight, and I have no idea what that weight of CO2 would be in a 114.... Bob

Sorry I messed up on my question Bob let me explain it again my bad.. When I fill it with co2 I get around 20 shots or so when I fill it with HPA I get 5 shots. So how do's one get a full fill into the gun then ? Not sure what you mean by dip tube ? I'm using a 90g JT cylinder with a remote line do I have to tip the tank upside down? So your saying I'm probably just getting gas into it not the liquid ?

That's a tube that goes from the valve to the bottom of the tank so that liquid CO2 comes out the valve with the tank upright.... Tanks intended for bulk filling other CO2 tanks are usually built that way, especially large ones.... On a 90gr. tank, I'm betting it doesn't have one, so you will have to invert it to get liquid coming out of the valve.... Bob

OK i gotcha. I'm 100% sure this JT 90g doesn't have a tube I'll try it upside down just wasn't sure if liquid getting into the gun would harm anything thanks Bob. Just in case your wondering what the JT 90g cylinder looks like.

Yeah, no dip tube in that.... you have to invert it to transfer liquid CO2 into the gun.... Bob

Unfortunately I don't have one of those tanks Brent that's the one that comes with the 114 is it not ? The sausage tank as they call them. I have to use a remote line to fill mine and I wasn't sure if it would flow into the gun with the tank upside down so I just did a fill on it with tank upside down and it made a big deference there was a little his coming out the airport so I stopped filling, took a shot re cocked and took a second shot and the hiss stopped gun feels like it has more power too. So I ran 15 pellets through it all good strong shots unfortunately I ran out of 22's have to take a run to le barons get some pellets and see how much more shots I get from this fill compared to the last one but its definitely feeling better. Feel like a noob but I'd rather feel like a noob then mess the gun up. Thanks guys.

You said you ran it on hpa? What pressure? Gotta watch that with older guns........it would be like a pipe bomb

Yes no problem Jonathan and thanks for the heads up but I did give it some good thought before I ran the HPA I ran 850psi same psi as from the co2 that's why I tried it .

Oh that's even lower really, but better safe eh. I really wish I would of got one of those, but I wasn't sure how easy it would be to find a fill adapter. Now I'll have to get one lol
