Barrel was very dirty!
Cleaned with Kroil, about 50 strokes of JB's bore paste, Kroil clean and then dry.

Recrowned at 11 degrees polished the crown and using a half inch ball with emery to break the rifling edges.

Redid the breech leade at 2 degrees to a depth that allowed the full pellet to seat flush. Head is nto the rifling nicely and skirt is flush at full diameter in the leade.

Mounted a third bushing and added an oring to the frame plug

Checked the barrel runout and indexed it with the muzzle 'up' at 12 oclock.

Hope to get a chance to shoot it soon. Worst case it will be Saturday.....

So....I assume that cutting the leade in isn't so different from chambering a powderburner? Am I right in assuming that from what I read from Walter's last statement?

Chambered about a dozen powderburners and always had the bullet just touch the rifling.
Where also do I purchase these bore lapping compounds in Canada??

Thanks Gents!

Quite different in that a small boring bar is used vs a reamer
Now a reamer would certainly be sweet but for one barrel the lathe and boring
works good. Check a good gunshop for JB's and any hardware for Autosol and Kroil.
Cheers

Amazing if you can find Kroil in Canada. I was told by KROIL that they will not ship to Canada. That was about 4 years ago now, maybe that's changed. I like it, personaly and bought it in the past from www.buffaloarms.com as well as from Doug's trading post in Hieder (Hyder?) Alsaska, where one gets Heiderized :drinkers: :drinkers: :drinkers: :drinkers: :drinkers: :drinkers: :drinkers: :drinkers: :drinkers:, just because. Actually, it doesn't take that must screech to get Hiederized - or is it Hyderized?
I bought JB compound from a local gun store. I buy FLITZ from a local gun store and Autosol from a local automotive parts and accessories store.

Eric is carrying JB Bore

JB Brite I get from Brownell but I have seen it around at random gun shops.

Rick.

The way I do the better airgun barrels is exactly the same setup as I would use for a PB

4 Jaw with hardened dowels on the front and a Cat Head on the rear.

Walter is strictly using a boring bar but I typically make up a reamer, both work great but I usually have to do multiples so a reamer is best for me. I shoot for a leade angle that will fully support the head of the pellet in the rifling
