I was wondering what the fps of the phantom 1000 would be after the crosman repair kit is installed. The repair kit im speaking of is sold on scopesandammo.com for 49.99 and is called: the crosman Quest/Phantom 1000/800 Repair kit. The reason I wish to know is simple curiosity and I dont own a chrony.
Thanks in advance for your time and answers-Ryan

About 850 fps in .177 and 680 fps in .22 cal. would by typical for that gun in PAL tune....

But the regular speed is 1000 fps on the phantom 1000. So are you saying the repair kit weakens the gun?

That's the advertised speed with non-lead pellets which are terribly inaccurate.... The velocities I gave you are REAL, using normal weight lead pellets for those calibers (7.9 gr. and 14.3gr.).... You will need a PAL to fit that kit into your Phantom legally....

As Bob indicated, the number on the rifles are exaggerated. Crosman is not the only company doing it. Their trick is in stating "a maximum velocity of..." and then noting somewhere this number is only achievable with superlightweight pellets that aren't accurate at 10 feet.

It's so bad. the newer rifles of the EXACT same platform and parts is advertised as "1200fps" (the Optimus)- total and utter BS.
