Okay i understand guns are picky with certain ammo but this is getting stupid :( i have a colt defender thats does not want to fire all the time, yes i am using crap ammo (copperhead bb's) and yes i do know better but frankly thats all i can get in my neck of the woods. i hand pick every single bb to make sure its clean and round but that still makes no difference :( has anybody else had feed issues with there colts or am i just lucky? lol

I shoot Copperheads in my Colt Defender with no issues.
Tonight I'll look at mine and see what your problem could be.

it almost seems like the spring needs to be stronger to put more pressure on the stack of bb's in order to feed them properly... i could be way off but its a theory ive been pondering lol i love the gun and hate to see such a minor problem take the enjoyment out of plinking :(

Return it. If it's not feeding properly I think something must be in the way of the BB. Even the cheapo copperhead should feed.

You can’t buy a single airgun for everything. Golfers use many different clubs, airgunners need more than one gun

i got it from a forum member so i dont think thats a possibility :( i know they sell them at walmart here and ive thought about buying one and swapping the defunct one out but for some reason they wont take back airguns :( they fall under the same class as ammunition im told and had a 1 hour vein bulging b*tch-fest with the manager over a umarex bfg or xbg (glock looking pistol) and ended up getting a in-store credit lol i emailed umarex about this issue but do not have a receipt for warranty purposes cuz like i said i got it used :( lol

the colt defender was my first air pistol, got it because it looked and felt right, however I discovered that it has a "moving barrel" action. When the trigger is pulled, the barrel moves forward then slams back onto the valve to release the air, in between the barrel and the valve is a spring loaded ball check valve used to control the bb feed, it wears and I believe causes the issue you are having, short of repairing it, try adding pelgun oil on the bb's in the mag, and don't use copper plated bb's.

i pulled it all apart today and found no obstructions to cause the constant feed issues, i even smoothed out where the built in mag feeds into the chamber... i thought about removing the detent or clipping a coil out of it cuz it seems like an awful lot of pressure on it, apart from that im fresh outta ideas lol guess ill be looking for daisy zinc coated bb's round here lol
