I got a little inspiration from rstern's latest work, I had a few parts from a project that didn't work as well as planned so I thought I'd do some tinkering. I took my 22xx experiment pistol that I had changed to shoot .25 pellets, and used a part of a 2260 tube shortened to fit under the jezx breech flush with the fillcap. Theres no rollstamp to worry about on the section of tube, the discovery valve has been modded and front half bored slightly to get a bit more volume, it is anchored in the tube the same as a discovery and with a bleed off hole behind the orings on the front of the valve just in case, and I kept the poly pipe mod. I knew I'd only get a few shots with air, and on co2 this used to shoot 28gr benjamins at around 330fps, pretty satisfying to flip cans at close range, but I wondered what would happen/how many shots from air. The 4 good shots I DO get pack a helluva punch, the pic of the hole is in 5/8 inch particle board t.v. stand door, tough stuff to drive a pellet into let alone knock a hole in it! I think 12 pump strokes filled to close to 1600psi and the shots were: 1-379fps, 2-395fps, 3-420fps, 4-406fps, 5-342..6-puff..click! highest # was 478 but only 4 shots. I may/may not leave this setup, but, if I can't hit a rodent close range in 4 shots...it wasn't meant to happen. I think I have seen somewhere a fill adaptor to fill a disco from a standard paintball gun tank? It would be interesting to see how well it worked vs 12g carts(couldn't measure the volume I was left in the tube/valve) not real practical, but still fun and interesting I hope.
