A couple of weeks ago I posted the chrony results for my 2289 in the "General Airgun Chat" section. I thought I would follow up with the new results in this section as I have finished modding it. I was going to finish this project later this year, but it's my goto plinker while I work on a couple of other projects and those initial low chrony results were just unacceptable.
So here are the results after installing the flat-top-piston. These are just rough average numbers, using Crosman Premier HP, 14.4 grain.
Pumps=FPS
4=390
6=455
8=515
10=550 + air left over in the valve
Now that's better!
I just have to finish clipping the hammer spring so it stays under 500FPS. I will probably be using this at 5-6 pumps(450FPS) for target shooting.
For those who are interested here is list of the mods I did to this gun.
Polished: trigger, sear, and hammer. Lightened the trigger/sear spring. Turned down tip of bolt probe to 3/32". Installed flat-top-piston,steel breech, trigger shoe, anodized barrel band & muzzle break, upgraded link pin,also a LPA MIM sight. Though for now I have mounted a Leapers Bug Buster scope on it, just until I finish my 2250 project.
Overall I'm very happy with these mods, pump arm has a nice solid feel to it now, action and trigger are smooth, less pumping and best of all it hits hard. So far I'm happy with the Leapers scope.

Yes 14" barrel, and obviously the detuned CDN. version.
Thanks to some very helpful post on this forum by rsterne and parts & tips from airguneric this was quite an easy and enjoyable build.
Hmm... I'm thinking a 1322 would make for a fun project next winter, if I can wait that long
