note to self; next time you do a trigger job, lube the contact points only, and not the whole thing

shooting my Winchester 500x this afternoon, did a trigger job on it months ago, it made the trigger quite buttery, in fact you couldn't feel it at all, the first and second stage merged into one and no resistance announcing the second stage, almost no way to predict it

took a few shots, then cocking the gun would not make the sear engage, thought it was a fluke, but no, it kept doing it, so took the whole thing apart, no mechanical failure apparent, till i figured it out, too much lube, took the trigger block apart piece by piece, cleaned it all up with goo gone, lubed the recommended contact points only, and not all moving parts  , put it back together, you can now hear the sear engage with a positive click

doesn't sound like a big deal, but for anyone who has ever taken that particular Turkish trigger apart, you would know what i mean..................lesson learned

from what i read, a bad trigger out of the box is to be expected from a Crosman, but there are fixes that makes them workable, i would love to have a chance to work on one, apparently, once you do that, its not bad at all, as for my trigger, it returned it to a state where it closely reassembles the trigger pull of my airhawk, medium pull effort on first stage, then a little bit more resistance on the second stage for a clean trigger break
