Post subject:  Cybergun Sig p226 x-five leaking full co2 when shooting?

Hey All!

I've had my Cybergun Sig Sauer p226 x-five for 8-9 months now and It's developed a real annoying issue. Sometimes when I'm shooting, I'll pull the trigger, it won't fire anything and yet entire CO2 canister will drain out. I have oiled it, checked my loading order in the magazine and it still seems to happen frequently. I load the BBs staggered in the mag, could this be my issue? Also I think I have a basic model because I don't have adjustable sights or the BAXS adjustment wheel. Could this be an issue? Any help would be great.
Thanks,
Mike

When that happened to me it was because of a misfeed that put a BB loose into the innards. If that's happened you will need to find and remove the escaped BB. Misfeeds are common with this pistol if you fill the mag, I use a max of 10 now, and mostly just fill 5 at a time. The extra handling keeps the CO2 warm. The other thing that helps is cocking the hammer before loading the mag.

With what kind of oil, exactly? Only use a drop of Pellgunoil on a tip of each CO2 cartridge before shooting.

Don’t load more than 15 BBs.

The BAXS adjustment wheel? Do you have 4.5 or airsoft 6mm!? There is no the BAXS wheel on the 4.5mm pistol.

And yes, it is better to first cock the slide and then load the mag and release the slide.
Like EverHopeful said you may have a loose BB in the internals.

Thanks for the replies. It is the 4.5mm and I've been using Copperhead 4.5mm bbs. I used a synthetic wheel bearing grease, but after a bit of reading, I'm going to clean it out and use graphite. I have been loading 8-10 rounds per mag and I still seem to have this issue. I'm suspicious of the plastic plunger assembly. After racking the slide with no mag, I find it catches. I'm going to try oiling that and try again. Any other thoughts?

I just re-lubricated everything and did a quick test. I loaded 10 bbs, full co2 and around shot 7 it would leak the full cylinder. I tried this 3 times and noticed the same issue. I found 2 bbs jammed in the small cup that feeds into the barrel. What could be causing the gun to pick up more than one bb at once? Sorry if I sound like an air gun newb. Thanks guys.

Sounds very frustrating. Are you sure that the 2 loose BBs are from the latest set you loaded? If they have been there for a while then you may just have found your problem. Otherwise, best thing would be to take some close up photos of the insides and post them here. Maybe someone will spot something out of place or missing.

I had a similar problem with mine when I first bought it. I narrowed the problem down to faulty mag feeding (feeding multiple BBs). Before getting rid of the mag, I took a pair of pliers and tried pinching the two tabs at the top of the mag together (where the BB sits prior to loading into breech). It worked, the feed problem was corrected and I have not had a problem since. I also did a modification to make loading BB's much easier and faster on these types of mags (also less stress on the mags two loading tabs I mentioned before)(and less stress on me, lol.). This can be found by googling "GSG 92 Airgun Co2 Magazine Modification" (you tube video).
And thats what worked for me, so I hope it helps. Cheers.

Andy

Awesome tips guys! I thought it might have been an issue with the mag. I'll try closing up the gap in the feed and I'm definitely going to do that mod. Thanks.

Had the same problem with my SIG out of the box. It would jam BB's and blow all the CO2 out. Did the crimp the end of the magazine trick and I have put several hundred shots through it now without any more problems

Why wouldn't you just post the link, man? There are scores (no, hundreds?, no…) of entries under that search criteria. Who the hell would know which one you were referring to?

Just sayin'.

Cheers.

Like what, man? The half hole drilled in the spring slot, or that strange aluminum thing on the end of the mag that I've never seen before?

Just saying', we're really looking for solutions here (not just the OP). What is your solution, please.

And Thanks!

The aluminum thing is just to hold down the plunger so I don't hurt my nail.

Dern right! I'd buy one of those if it could be designed to work with more than one type of mag.
