 Post subject: lw barrel problem fixed

Couldn, t figure whay a lw barrel was shooting so poorly. 1 inch group at 10 yds and larger as I moved out. Turned out the barrel band was pushing up on the barrel. I removed it ,,, there was only one,,, and now almost one holers at 20 yds in a 15kph wind. Much better.

Weird. Some sort of harmonic problem I guess? You'd think that pushing the barrel would just offset the POI rather than spread the groups.

My guess is harmonics. Walter first suggested floating the barrel on my .177 pneuma. I think the only reason they put the barrel bands on in the first place is to mount the gun in the stock, or to take up the weight of the tube.2
