Hey guys, I was wondering if someone can give me the lowdown on a regulator, and what it does and what it's capable of? If I have it right, I can put one in my .177 Pneuma and set it too 13 fpe with Cuda's (one holer 10 shot groups! at 27 yards literally!) and get better shot consistency?

Right now with Cuda 10.65 gr 4.52 Match at 13 fpe, it gets about a 22 fps ES between 20 shots and roughly 24 fps ES with the Monsters 13.4 gr at 19 fpe.

I am shooting Monsters right now for that extra oomph and good accuracy, but once I run out, I think this gun would shine even more at 13 fpe or the mid to high 700's I set it too with 10.65 gr pellets.

A regulator sounds good for your intended use, low to medium power, where you want consistent velocities.... Regulators aren't as good in high power applications unless they have a lot of plenum volume to draw from (between the reg. and valve) and that is difficult to achieve in an in-tube regulator....

Thanks Bob. Yes the Pneuma really shined at 13 ft lbs with 10.65gr Cuda's. Which is what I'm going to set it too again.

I was too engulfed in achieving the most power while staying accurate. JSB Monsters fit the bill when I set them to average 822 fps (19 fpe).

But now that I think about it, when it was set to 13 ft lbs, it was a laser! That's why I figured a regulator would only help with the 13 ft lb setting?
