So the kids were shooting away and once they went for lunch tried to put a few rounds through the Benji but apparently just put them into the gun......

I have no idea how many pellets before me were jammed in the barrel (I thought they had messed with the scope but when I took some shots at the 16x16 plate with no results I stopped shooting) and from the rod depths there may be 4-5 inches of pellets from end to end...

The rod wont budged them so.... what to do now?

How can I clear this or am I looking at new barrel?

Fill muzzle end with oil, seal cleaning rod end in barrel with patches (protect that crown with a straw) and mallet them stubborn pellets out with hydraulics.
It will get messy, but spare your rifling.

metal expands when really warm, did you think of heating the exterior of the barrel with either a hair dryer or be really careful with a heat gun(without melting the lead), then when warm try to push them out with a brass rod, that's what i would try

My .02...
As noted above, protect the crown and the breech.
Use a Teflon oil to lube both ends of the blockage area, then apply direct mechanical force to the pellets via a long 3/16" brass(ideal) or steel rod. Hardwood dowels will work, but may not be strong enough. Pushing from the breech end- the pellets will have less resistive force- tap the rod gently with a dead-blow hammer, and keep the rod centered. Be patient, and stabilize the gun and barrel before the tapping step.
First, though, I'd ask the kids how many pellets they might've loaded. Realistically, there may be 3 or 4 max.
Unless they have their own ramrod... :shock:

I suspect the one at the muzzle end is in bass-ackwards then I don't know how many someone else piled in but I know I took about 6 to realize it wasn't the scope and I was just missing into the grass..... so there is min 7 in there and could be skirt out both ends.......
I wont be shooting for while so I have time to either try some of these suggestions or get Ace to just do it!!!

This had me wondering at what temperature do pellets melt at?
Could you put the barrel in an oven and melt the stuck pellets out?
Or would that damage the barrel?
i.e.: warping

OK I am really laughing now... of course they would want me to give them my drivers license, SIN, Union numbers, addresses for the last 50 years, kids names and my visa number....... and take a picture with the Manager.

There are the options pointed out already. If they fail.

You could sharpen the tip to a very short nose. Then thread the end of the rod with a course die. Using masking tape wraps to center your rod within the bbl. Then its just a matter of slowly threading each pellet individually and extracting from the bbl. Some form of lubrication should be used. Steel or brass will work. If steel I recommend tape be wrapped at least every 2 inches or so to minimize damage to the rifling.

PS a brazing rod may also be used, just knock the flux off and sand down the rod with sand paper prior to use.

WW that sounds like a gentle plan. There was a tip in my cleaning kit which has thread but it is not pointed so it wasn't able to screw into the pellet but it did give me an idea like this. I need to find my old tap and die set... see if I have anything suitable.

Someone also suggested lead dissolver ( a powder?) ...where would you get this?

Having never experienced this, I'm having a hard time seeing how this could happen.

Are you sure they didn't insert something other than a pellet in there like a twig, a stone or perhaps a .177 BB in the skirt of a .22 pellet, or a dart followed by a pellet (just trying to think like a kid)?

If you've got anything other than lead pellets in there, it might affect how you should deal with the blockage.

An investigation is in order.

It may be a 177 up the skirt of a 22 but they aren't the kind to experiment with projectiles.

Well Ace has a few of my other guns so he took on the Benji.

Here is what he has been able to extract using by screwing into and pulling back.... more to come but really really stuck. So I am looking at a new barrel as an option.
