Post subject:  Cr600 not working - need some advice

Just received my 600 in and went to charge her up - and nothing.

I mean absolutely nothing. No hiss; no sounds; nothing.

Took out the powerlet and it had a nice hole in the end. Put in another brand new one and exactly the same.

I had put pellgun oil on the tip of the powerlets.

It was resealed 2 years ago (from the previous owner); but not fired since then.

Any ideas?

Do you have a release of Co2 when you unscrew the end cap?

1st time - I didn't notice any.

2nd time - yes; there was some released as the cap came off (very easily).

1st. Poor quality caplets, try again with a fresh caplet. Should have quite a large release of Co2 from a properly filled caplet. If still no results.

2nd. Possibly when the gun was resealed and the stem changed. If the stem was dry it may have adhered itself to the valve port face. Being that it wasnt fired.

Caplets should be fine; have used the same batch in lots of other air guns with no duds.

Anything I can do myself about number 2?

As to the 2nd. Sorry Doug, you will have to have someone open up, lubricate the internals and replace the stem. If it does come free, it will tear the seal.

If you are not getting a good release of Co2 and the cap removes easily. Remember should be approx 850 psi at room temp. I stand by poorly filled caplets.

I will triple check that out.

Gun must be cocked prior to charging with gas.
Piercing cap on the majority of the models must be unscrewed 1/4 turn after tightening to pierce CO2. This lets the gas out. Some models have a push button to pierce the CO2 and others have a nose first CO2 installation and pierce when the Cap is tightened fully. These models have a cap that shows the butt end of the CO2 cartridge.

This one:

I did cock it before piercing.

I will try backing it off.

OK - I've tried every combination of suggestions - it appears that it must be Kim's #2... :(

That's too bad, I figured the force of the hammer would un-stick the valve stem. when you pull the trigger it does click though right? should also send the loader inwards when trigger is pulled.

Trigger works; loader works; nothing is cycling...

Find it very hard to believe your not hearing air escaping somewhere Doug :?
if its not hissing out the cap then it must be hissing out the barrel :?:
it wont cycle if there's not enough pressure to re-cock itself or the o-ring is shot as well.

When I go to remove the end cap; there is a fair amount of Co2 escaping - but the powerlet is VERY cold when it comes out.

So as to that Doug, back to #2 stem seal is adhered itself to the valve port. Other wise you would either have the gun cycling itself or you would hear an audible leak. Either thru the frame of the gun which would mean the hammer oring is the cause or thru the bbl in which the stem seal is not resealing.
Sorry to hear of your newest acqusition in this condition, but Im sure you can come to terms with the party you purchased it from.
