Just got this used Talon rifle. Tank partially full. This is an older style top hat on it. It has a straight body all the way into the brass valve body. I have this adapter to fill it.
http://www.dlairgun.com/Accessories/Airforce/014_Refill_Adaptor_Set_U1010.html
It doesn't compress anything, to open the top hat or whatever. I tried connecting hoping the air from the scuba would open the valve and fill the tank. Nope!

Am I missing something or do I need to send the tank to AirForce and get it looked at? Or if one of you knows, I can pay for your time and postage!

Thanks!

Seems D&L lifted their brief, non-descriptive text directly from the AirForce page:
http://www.airforceairguns.com/AirForce ... /u1009.htm
Doesn't say what a 'charging assembly' is exactly. Closest I can find on the AirForce site is this thing:
http://www.airforceairguns.com/AirForce ... /u1060.htm
But it isn't described as a charging assembly... though it is an assembly of parts, and it is used in charging... so maybe that's it? I've thrown them an email asking for an explanation. Figure I ought to help out since I helped get you connected with the Talon. That was half an hour ago, no answer so far.

This is how randyhub charges his Condor tank.

I use Air Force's refill adapter with the quick disconnect.

Rick with the assembly you have. Disconect the assy from your bottle. So that it can vent to atomosphere.
Place a dime inside the assy and slowly tighten down upon the valve stem.
Does it vent compressed air? And your dime will be indented, just so you know.

Await your findings.

It does Kim!
Sorry it took so long to get back on this. I go back to Victoria on weekends.

Ok so since that. Did you try refilling the tank to see if your scuba bottle opens up the valve to refill to common pressure? Does the guns hammer activate the valve to fire?

I tried filling the AF Tank, but the adapter fittings are only hand tight. Will take them to work tomorrow and put the wrench to them!

Gun fires with the tank. Just enough air in AF Tank to push a pellet out.

Well there is no reason if your scuba tank has more pressure than the AF tank for them to equalize out.

Well the gun still fires fine, but I had no idea if it was filling? I am still very new to PCP's, but pretty positive watching the gauge and and it wasn't moving to the positive. I filled the Discovery with no problems a few minutes later. I have a Talon Tunes tank adapter on the way! So saves me buying high scope mounts, which I hate! AND getting the proper view through the scope. Also gives me a pressure on the AF tank!
