tried another rifling of a barrel, this time I did 12 very fine cuts instead of 6 deep and reamed the tube to the proper size first, I think I got better results this time, will clamp it down and shoot a few out of it to check if it will hit within the same garage door more than once :lol: . may turn out, or maybe not, still fun!

im sure it will work fine , ive messed around with alot of different styles of rifling , the small grooves tend to work fine but the lead never sinks into the groove like you'd hope , sometimes you loose air around the pellet . most barrels are made the oposite but the results are the only thing that matters :)
can you see light thru the barrel grooves when you squeeze a pellet in it ? if not then it should be fine for sealing .

This trainwreck of lead is 9- .25 cal 28gr benjamin pellets shot from 28 ft. on a rest with this barrel, I used a tactical dot sight, and found it had a bit of glare esp in less light. the target was a cover sticker from a see n shoot target, and the pointy thing is my pen. why 9 pellets? well I didnt take very many out to the garage and dropped and lost the 10th...i don't think this is too bad a group for a pistol/carbine 15 inch barrel in very cold temps, so I'm thinking i might keep this one. 8)

I was just a lil too late on the draw to help out a fellow member, but now I have this 28 inch 1 in 20 left twist, 12 groove, .376-.384, not quite finished....hmmm, now what am I to do with such a beast?

looks like you better get building a big gun to stick it on .

What sort of contraption are you using to rifle those barrels and where are you getting your barrel blanks. Any other information and pics to add to your interesting post would be great.

This was a length of .50 OD seamless hydraulic tube, can't find anything else around here, and its not overly cheap, I have built another larger rifling bench to cut the riflings(38 inch max I think). it's just for fun, but I can rifle pretty much any size tube with it, managed to get a good .25 barrel with it, Sonic and I shredded the bottom of small soup cans from 35 yards very consistently sunday with the scoped pistol using the .25 I'm not sure I have an airgun that would push a pellet out of the big barrel, and I dont have the tools to make a mold for the ammo anyway..... I still may try! :lol:
