Has anyone tried installing the safety spring and ball without having to take the breach and tube off and with the trigger frame still attached.....everytime I do any trigger work on my 2240,I manage to knock the safety to the 'safe' position and the ball and spring go flying, then I have to take the breach off and undo the main tube to have access to the hole where the ball and spring go.....I would like to be able to install both those pieces without having to disassemble the tube and breach....anyone done it? Thanks,Huck

I just install the ball and spring in the top of the trigger group, hold it vertical so that gravity keeps them from falling out, and bring the trigger group up under the main tub and put in the two screws mounting the trigger group....

Thanks, but I am asking if anyone has installed the safety spring and ball while the trigger group is still attached to the main tube. Huck

Hi Huck, my 1377 is currently dismantled so just to see if it works, I tried to install the spring and ball like you described, but it doesn't want to stay put. I believe there is too much pressure in the spring to install it in any other way than described by rsterne, it's got to be supported on its sides.
Good luck with your re-assembly!

Greetings

Thanks...I guess it's not all that bad...just take two screws out and drop both pieces in...done...almost...once the 3 screws on the trigger side plate are removed and the safety bar is installed...no bigee! Huck
