I recently purchased a crosman 795 .177 air rifle. After a few shots I realized the rear sight was rubbing up against the frame of the rifle and leaving an indent. I believe this to be an alignment issue of the barrel but I'm not totally sure. I've never had this problem with my phantom so I'm not sure how to correct it. Does anyone know how to fix this or has ever had this problem? |

I forgot to mention it is a beak barrel model and causes the rubbing between the sight and the frame when loading it |

You mean when cocking it touches the stock? I would've thought it would easily clear. Got pix? |

I just checked my 795 and it has the exact same mark.I can see it just barely touches in the same spot yours does. I have had this gun for more than 15 years now and the mark is not any bigger than yours so I wouldn't be to concerned about it getting bigger. The gun still shoots fine. |

Btw how old is this rifle? I found this one on Kijiji so I don't know a lot about it.

I don't know the age of it.The earlier models had a plastic barrel and that's what I have.I only keep it around for shooting darts and the fact it cocks so easily.the kids love it. I can't tell you much more.it was given to me and was always a back up plinker. One of the online dealers had them on sale recently for less than $40.00 |

I would tilt the sight open and see if you can slide it over a tad, but looking at the pix I'm not sure if you can. Otherwise I would just sand the damaged area of the sight so it can't catch anymore, and maybe bevel the edge of the metal it hits. Doesn't seem like it would need much to stop it. |
