I know others have converted camera tripods on here before and I have been meaning to make one. I found this one at Value Village for $6, it was sturdy and had all the features I needed.

I gathered up all the doodads & thinga-ma-jigs I figured I might need.

I carefully drilled an undersized hole in the bottom center of the rubber boat thing, then forced the nut into it.

In total 45-60 mins to build this, including taking pics and all tools put away.
That was easy! The tripod is still usable for a Camera as well, nice.
I will try it out this week and follow up on how well it works.
I suspect the rubber will be a bit "grappy", so may have to cover it with something. Princess Auto also has some rubber boat rollers which may work better, we will see.

I got something like that. Cept I bolted a plate and mounted a sand bag filled rifle rest.

Nice pic looks good!

I am thinking of attaching a small rifle or pistol sand bag at some point. I have a flat plate mount somewhere that should give me a good foundation for it.
I will try a few things and see what works best for me.
I should grab another Tripod for my Chrony as well.

Tested! Finally!
Using a CO2 powered rifle, so no recoil=no problem with the V-rest being too "sticky". I am fairly certain this would be an issue with a springer, though easily remedied with an old sock/glove or similar.
Indoor shoot, approx. 7meters @ 70*F. scoped, 2 shots on target. No messing around on these shots, quick acquisition of the target and squeezed of the shot.

Looks like I managed to resize a couple pics for this post. Hooray! Another brave step into the 21st Century for me, and a proud milestone in my life lol.
