I recently bought the Walter CP99 and love it, except for what I'm calling the "Double Safety". The safety requires you to pull back on a little lock before switching from safe to hot which really makes it hard or nearly impossible to operate the safety with one hand. Does anyone know of a way to remove the safety lock or maybe keep it pushed back? Thanks, this is my first post here so go easy on my newbieness. |

Let's not get confused here, we are talking about the CP99 Compact wich is a BB. Yes the safety is a pain to operate but for the moments I have no solution for it, but I'm open to suggestion... anybody |

Hello and welcome, amirmun. At the back of the sliding ''lock'', there's a small opening in which you will see a tiny spring. You can insert a small flat blade screwdriver in that opening and compress the spring a bit, it''ll help somewhat. After doing so, put a drop of oil in that opening, too. Keeping the safety mechanism well lubricated is really helpful. BTW, I never found a way of putting the safety off single-handed, being right-handed. Also you could take the pistol apart, and remove the ball and spring. Just google ''CP99 disassembly'', I saw a good YTube video on it. And congrats on your purchase, it's a real nice little pistol you got there! I really love mine . |
