Post subject:  Walter CP99 double safety

I recently bought the Walter CP99 and love it, except for what I'm calling the "Double Safety". The safety requires you to pull back on a little lock before switching from safe to hot which really makes it hard or nearly impossible to operate the safety with one hand. Does anyone know of a way to remove the safety lock or maybe keep it pushed back? Thanks, this is my first post here so go easy on my newbieness.

Let's not get confused here, we are talking about the CP99 Compact wich is a BB. Yes the safety is a pain  to operate but for the moments I have no solution for it, but I'm open to suggestion... 8) anybody :?:

Hello and welcome, amirmun. At the back of the sliding ''lock'', there's a small opening in which you will see a tiny spring. You can insert a small flat blade screwdriver in that opening and compress the spring a bit, it''ll help somewhat. After doing so, put a drop of oil in that opening, too. Keeping the safety mechanism well lubricated is really helpful. BTW, I never found a way of putting the safety off single-handed, being right-handed.

Also you could take the pistol apart, and remove the ball and spring. Just google ''CP99 disassembly'', I saw a good YTube video on it.

And congrats on your purchase, it's a real nice little pistol you got there! I really love mine :) .
