Post subject:  Looking for Crosman 451 Factory Service Manual

Recently I was able to acquire a Crosman 451 Military Model.

Research is showing that the hammer and the internal piston for the blowback are two weak links prone to failure.

As it is, the pistol is in working order. If I can look inside my plan would be to make another hammer possibly in brass to be able to shoot it without worrying about breakage.

I read that they could be difficult to work on but I also came across the opposite where the person was saying that it was not.

Best thing would be to obtain a Factory Service Manual for it. Based on what happened when I was looking for the Crosman 620, I started my search on e-Bay.

Unfortunately one of the sellers I found specify that he would not ship to Canada and the other guy (who had the Factory Manual for the 620) is away until October.

I was planning to work on the 451 as a vacation summer project so if anybody has any info they could share it would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I am sure you have checked but Crosman does post the EPV.

Hi Plinkercases!

The owner manual is not enough as it explains the only basic operations, the factory service manual has only about 7 pages but it contains the whole procedure for dis-assembly and re-assembly.

This is what I need.

Previously you gave me a link to a site that was selling pdf file when I was looking for the 620 but unfortunately the 451 is not listed there.

There is not a lot of the 451 pistol kicking around so it is possible that none of the forum member had worked on that model.

I will keep my fingers crossed that it is not the case.

Anyway, thanks for the reply.

Pete I was referring to the EVP which shows all the parts in relationship to each other on the same link not the OM which I know is not useful. Better than nothing I suppose for taking it apart and putting it together,

Hi Plinkercases!

My bad!!!

You are right, the EVP shows at least the relation between part. I already had one but the pdf from the Crosman site is a bit cleaner than the one I had. Thanks, I will use it.

Hi Edmonton, you found the site that I was talking about. It is specified that they don't ship to Canada.

I guess I will have to wait for the other guy.

Top-notch seller. I'd contact them; shipping paper across the border is a no-brainer. :)

I think I still have it on microform/microfiche. Do you have a reader at home?
