Hi Guys.

I have a stock Crosman 1322 and was thinking to put a longer barrel on it. Right now I have a 14" barrel and it shoots very nice out to 10m. As I said, the gun is otherwise all stock and I think it will stay like that for the foreseeable future.

Initially, I was thinking to get a 24" barrel but some posts in the forums made ma turn away from that. They say that is too much for a stock valve as it doesn't release enough air for such a long tube and friction ends up being greater than propulsion.

From what I read, it seems that 18" of barrel would be close to the sweet spot for an otherwise unmodified 13xx and that is what I think I might do. Please let me know if you have done any experimenting in this direction or just what would you think.

Hi Adimo! Since you're a long time member of the CAF, I guess you're aware that putting a longer barrel on your 1322 may render it RPAL-rated. Do you have a Chrony? If not, get yourself one, it'll be your most precious tool for tuning your air gun. It's not that expensive and it's easy to use. Regarding your inquiry, yes, 18'' seem to be an ''ideal'' length according to many sources. However, you'd have to buy a 24'' barrel and cut and re-crown it. A 24'' Crosman barrel with TP already drilled is around 30-32$ I think.

Have fun tuning and enjoy your gun!

If everything's so lovely yeah, then why don't I, why don't I, why don't I, why don't I feel lovely?
