Whats the difference between the chrony used for pellet gun and those for airsoft?

Essentially none. Any chrony should be fine for both.

I'd have to say "it depends". If what you mean by "those for airsoft" is the small, approx. 5" long little boxes with an approx. 1" hole through them that you shoot through, then I personally have found them less than perfect for air gun use. I think those little ones work best with electric airsoft guns, and are possibly not consistent when the air from a airgun blows into them because the gun is held too close to the front of the unit. Because the hole you have to shoot through is so small it is difficult to line up the gun from a longer distance. Also, the longer the distance between chronograph sensors the more accurate and reliable the readings are likely to be. On a real "Chrony" brand chronograph the sensors are 12" apart. In the small box ones the sensors are only about 3" apart.
