Hi all,

Got a great deal on the 495fps Air Hawk ($90), and looking to understand how it's been limited. I have my PAL (and RPAL), so it would be nice to bring it up to 900fps +/- if possible.

I did some searching, but couldn't find any specifics. Is it the spring? Some sort of airflow limiting? I noticed that both versions are listed with 30lb cocking effort on the Umarex site which seems strange if it's the spring, but I'm new to airguns. Would be great if I could drop in the 'normal' OEM spring :)

Any help would be very much appreciated!

You have to get the full power spring. Got mine from D&L

Yeah they got a weaker spring. I got mine from R&R Repair in MB.

The Uramex parts seem to cost close to, or more than the Diana parts. I find the Diana seals seem a bit better quality than the Uramex.

Got one Airhawk tuned shooting an average of 698.7FPS with a low deep thud with a spring change. Shoots like a dream with the trigger job. My go to gun for target. Got my stock Walmart Airhawk at 495FPS for an open sight rifle that I am going to start working on now.

Had a $49.99 Grizzly that I opened and put in a half inch piece of PVC pipe and took it from 428 FPS to 500FPS. Totally got rid of the spring twang in the cheap gun. Got it shooting really good also.

All trial and error but lube is a must in all pellet guns it seams. Had them apart 2 or 3 times to get them right.

CHEERS!
