Post subject:  Umbrae Steel Force Mock Suppressor

Hello,
I am looking for a mock suppressor for the Umarex Steel Force. I believe it has to be a "QD" type as there are no threads on the barrel.

I have sent inquiries to Evike.com, Airsoft Station, and PyramidAir. Nobody is sure what will work, although I have seen several models for the airsoft guns.

I was told this one "might" work https://www.airsoftstation.com/b-t-rote ... -grey-8-9/

Are there any measurements, other than length that I should look for? will any QD type silencer for a flash hider work?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I have both a Steel Force and a KWA/KSC/ASG MP9 handy and I can tell you that the dimensions are completely different, so I can guarantee that the typical MP9 style faux silencers made for airsoft like this will not fit, aside from the fact that they have three lugs and the Steel Force has four.

The one you linked to fits over standard M4 flash-hiders (like the one supplied) and is definitely too small to fit. It looks like your only option is a custom fabricated model.

Took me some time to find it, but finaly did...

It can be fit on top of the original flash hider, the flash hider is made of one piece it can not be removed or unscrewed. you do not need to remove it from the gun.

Modif. to make it fit, all to be done on the flash hidder:
1- very fine sanding on the front, paint tickness is just what you need to make it slide in...
2- filing a notch on top and front to make the guide pin inside so the mock suppressor do not rotate...
3- a bit of filing on both side so the lock mechanism can slide and engage...
To be done on the mock suppressor
4- driling a new hole on the grill covering the mock suppressor on opposite side. Cause if left as it is the writing are upside down on the right of the gun...

Hummm, no picture of the flash hidder, will have to fix that...

Doing it like this put's the lock facing downward.

By the way, it is 6mm airsoft...

Here are more detailled picture, on the supressor open and closed you can see the 2 tab that lockin the flash hider, you can also see the pin inside that supressor that slide on the notch on the front of the flash hider. To bring the lock mechanism under the notch has to be on top cause the pin inside is located on opposite side and is also the screw that hold the outer drilled skin... witch has to be rotate half a turn so the writing are upright....

A bit of filling where the pen is pointing need's to be lightly shaved, so the lock work's perfectly. Also the notice where the notch is on the flash hider... Straight on top...

Here's my version Steel Force with a mock suppresor. It just locks on the muzzle brake. The muzzle brake sometimes becomes a little loose! No modding at all.

The QD cans made for an M4 are a direct fit.

Is it the same thing for the HK MP5 K-PDW? Would be nice to have one that can fit both...

Post subject:  Re: Umbrae Steel Force Mock Suppressor

Just wanted to say thanks to all that have given advice, it is very much appreciated. I have not been able to get on due to long hours at work and at home. I did purchase the suppressor that silentman had recommended. I will start the mods to get it to fit soon.

Will I need to lengthen the barrel to the tip of the suppressor in order to shoot it with the suppressor attached?

Or will it shoot straight out of the suppressor?

Thanks again

Post subject:  Re: Umbrae Steel Force Mock Suppressor

shoot straight out of the box after modifying the flash hider, no modif on the mock supressor itself...
