I watched a video from Replica Airguns on removing the ugly white lettering on the Tanfoglio Witness using Bluing pens...the result seemed less than spectacular. The theory seemed good, but the application needed some tweaking. If the bluing pen worked (with much rubbing), then full strength Birchwood Casey Bluing should work better...and it did ! Apply small amounts with a Q-tip, lightly working in to the etched writing, and wipe off after a few seconds, doing a small section at a time. Repeat as necessary. When satisfied with the removal (since the lettering is laser etched, it dosen't really go away, it just turns a deep brownish color) Apply a small amount of metal polish, and lightly polish for a protective coating. I use Flitz, available at CTC.

I remember I had read somewhere said it's illegal to remove the white color warning letters... just like you can't remove the orange tip from a air-soft gun if it comes with it...

I really doubt that Michael at ReplicaAirGuns would post a video about how to remove the lettering on his website IF it was illegal...

Since the lettering is actually still there, just very hard to see !!, I think it's OK

Puff~ :axe:

Really?! anyway, as I like to use the slide to cock the gun, some letters there already have the fade out effect~

Most of the KWC branded guns dont have any warring labels. That stuff is added by the distributors legal team.

If you bought the Umarex Colt Combat Vet 1911 or something like it, you may not need to worry about the white lettering.

I think it is still sold by a few retailers.

Also, where did you get the wood grips?
