Hello. I was wondering if anyone had tips on removing the barrel from a Diana Chaser pistol?
I removed the 3 grub screws at the top of the breech but it won't budge - not even a wiggle. Am i missing something?

I have totally removed all the grub screw, then twist the barrel before slowly pulling it out on twisting motion

After removing the 3 set screws there are a couple of O-rings on the end of the barrel which might cause it to feel tight - otherwise it should just pull out. Perhaps applying a little heat might help, but not too much or you will melt the O-rings.

The middle grub screw is longer and has indent in the barrel , whereas the front and back ones just apply pressure. Take them right out lubricate the seam of the breech and barrel and gently rotate it free.
Watch for the breech seal to fall out usually happens...

When I took my bandit barrel out. There was red locktite on it. So it took more force to remove the first time. I had to twist and pull...

Yep the Chaser pistol barrel is really glued in with loctite. You may need to heat with hair dryer and front sight in a vise with a cloth over it and slowly turn back and forth.

Thanks for all the tips everyone. Even with the screws completely removed it wouldn't budge but i was afraid to apply too much force in cased i overlooked something. I'll give it another try with some of the methods you described.

Wes, any risk of cracking the front sight by clamping it in a vice? i'm guessing it's glued on as well.

Yes it's possible to crack it, but not tightening enough and allowing the front sight tip to take the force also has its risks in breaking or bending it. With a cloth it can be tightened up fairly tight. Then the hair dryer blowing into the grub screw holes in the breech seems to help. Give it a few minutes of heat to loosen up the loctite.

Others may have better ideas. I was thinking drilling a hole in wood the size of the front sight then cutting it in half and carving out a little chunk for the sight top then clamping that in the vise might be safer. But I never did it.

I'm afraid i haven't had time to try again. I intend to give it another shot this weekend.
I'll be sure to report back when i do.

It wasn't too hard once i knew it was safe to apply a little twisting force to it. There was indeed some sort of red loctite-like compound in there. I used a rubber pad over the barrel and a vice grip pliers to twist the barrel a little and that appeared to break it free. It was pretty easy to remove by hand after that with a gentle twisting motion. i guess they injected some loctite into the holes for the grub screws and that got into the area around the barrel.
Also, thanks for the warning about the breach seal. It did fall out - a good reminder to keep a clean workspace so that's it's easy to find stuff. lol

I just realized the barrel band for the long barrel didn't come with a rear sight. Might be time for me to finally get a scope or red-dot sight for this.

Excellent! Now you can check for burrs in chamber lead in etc.
They can usually benefit from some polishing in there.. It really smooths out the action.
