Hi guys, I own a crosman 1400, third variant . It is in great shape, only fired a few times according to the previous owner. I had the airguns out this afternoon. I pumped the 1400 two times and pulled the trigger, bang it went. I did this three times, no problem. I just went upstairs to put them away. I went to pump it one more time. It feels like the pump arm isnt pushing any air into it at all. I put a couple drops of oil on the felt waited a bit, nothing!!! Any ideas what it could be? Thanks for replies

HI:
I had something like that happen and it was a little Quad o ring in the exhaust valve assembly.
Its located in the cap that comes off to release the compressed air when the trigger is pulled.

https://www.jgairguns.biz/1400-c-78_89_121/

Its in part 140-070 on the diag.

Have a look at thread:

topic81096.html

It goes into some more detail.
You might get lucky by just lubing it!

Hi,
I successfully revitalized two vintage Powermaster 760's with these o-rings from Canadian Tire, although the small one (the quad, #4) may have come from Home Depot. To be clear, it was an ordinary o-ring profile, not "squared off" like original quad. Both rifles still working fine.
Numbers 1 to 4 on packages correspond to those indicated on valve. Not sure if pop-off caps & stems are the same size but for $5 investment worth a try...?
Hardest part is getting quad ring out. Think I worked a pin under it & pried it out. New o-ring gently prodded in with blunted tooth pick.
Good luck!

Thanks alot guys for the help. I wound up boxing the whole thing up and sending to r and r airguns for a complete oring, and seals and pump cup rebuild. The gun is in almost mint shape so I think it was worth spending the money. It should be good for another 43 years!
