This post is not intended to open political debate, but to show the government that Canadian gun owners do not support further restrictions on our freedoms.

"e-1608
Petition to the House of Commons
Whereas:

Bill C-71, An Act to amend certain Acts and Regulations in relation to firearms, does nothing to tackle firearms violence, but rather adds further red-tape on law abiding firearms owners;
This legislation brings back the useless and ineffective long-gun registry; and
This legislation does not provide the resources to frontline police forces to tackle the true source of firearms violence : gangs and organized criminal enterprises.

We, the undersigned, Residents of Canada, call upon the House of Commons to scrap Bill C-71, An Act to amend certain Acts and Regulations in relation to firearms, and to instead devote greater resources to policing in Canada."

And before people are meh It's just firearms. Remember this will include and effect airguns. Esp the transfer part ( where seller has to contact the CFP and get a ref # and give it to the buyer ) And the store will need to keep a log.

Agreed ~

This type of regulations can only limit the good ppl to use their equipments and can do nothing to the bads... How come the politicians are always putting money and efforts to do such things?

It's rubbish. As I have mentioned on the other forum, it's only a stepping stone to taking guns out of every Canadian hands that are not military, law enforcement, and amour car security.

Likewise, signed.

Each signature may represent a mere drop in the bucket, but combined with that of every honest, law abiding, licensed gun owner in this country, all those drops will become a flood which cannot be ignored.

Signed.

Would be a good idea to have this topic moved to a part of the forum where more members will see it~ especially since it also pertains to airguns that meet the p.a.l. criteria....
