Don't get me wrong. I love the BHP and it paved the way for the future. But you can make a CZ75 grip thinner than a single stack 1911.. And nice grip = better shooting. My 1911 width with standard grip panels are 1.3" wide. My CZ 75 with thin grips is 1.13" and it is a double stack magazine.

And biggest issue with the BHP is the safety. The standard safety is near impossible to operate with gloves, or if your hands are slippery. I have not shot a MK3 that has extended controls. The CZ75 is inspired by the BHP. With CZ being super popular in the shooting world, you will never have a shortage of CZ parts.

Springfield Armory just launched an updated version. All forged metal parts and they got rid of the magazine disconnect safety.

I always wanted a python. I shot a Python back in the mid 70's. It was very accurate with properly sized bullets. The groove dia. was .356" & .357" sized and lubed bullets shot better than .358". According to what I've read on other forums, the new Pythons do not hold a candle to the older ones. I suspect better than not having one, though. I always thought Pythons to be a mite pricey. The one I shot, had a silky smooth DA and the sights did not move as the hammer fell - just like my old Police Positive .38.

My father had a 60s Python in Royal blue... it was very (very) nice, and I should have probably bought it. - I had a late 80s Ultimate Stainless... And while it was nice, it wasn't as nice as the Royal blue, and it went to a new home. And since we're on a HP thread...

Nice engraved tangent sight model. I wonder if it has the shoulder stock grove? I can picture it with a really nice matching wood shoulder stock on it

I bought my FN, with adjustable sights back in the very early 80's. The first thing I tried was polishing the surface of that safety and area on magazines that it contacted, That helped a little, then I found a reference on how to remove it and wonders be, a tremendous difference, no gritty feeling. Later I got a Cylinder and Slide wide trigger which is not made to accomadate that safety. and finally went for again a C&S extended safety, cnc milled sear, hammer, and a Bar Sto match barrel. That all took about 15 years, but it is one fine shooting handgun now.
