I finally got around to testing my Discovery in .22 caliber. I bought it last spring, but for one reason or another never got around to trying it out. It has suffered from benign neglect but no longer. I was surprised and pleased with the Disco because it was everything it was claimed to be. It got 25 shots for the single fill I used. I didn't chrony the gun, but to judge from the smack into the bullet box it was hitting hard. The gun is very light in weight, especially compared to the German springers I am used to shooting. I didn't have a scope on it (I had put the scope I first got for it on another gun) but I'm looking forward to seeing its accuracy with a scope at ranges longer than the 10 meters I shot today. To be sure, I'm not expecting the kind of accuracy that one would anticipate with guns like the HW100 or AA510 from an entry level gun. Nevertheless, I've ordered a 4 - 12 power scope for it. Like most PCPs the Discovery is quite loud. But what kind of surprised me was how pedestrian the trigger is. I had to ask myself why doesn't Crosman put a better trigger on this gun. I think it would be a relatively simple way to improve this simple to use, lightweight rifle.

It's very easy to improve the trigger, search "2-screw" or "3-screw" trigger mod for Disco or 2260.... Put in a lighter trigger coil spring and you get a pseudo 2-stage trigger, the screws allow you to adjust the trigger position (which governs the 1st "stage" length), the over travel (don't take out all of it or the sear will drag on the hammer), and the 3rd screw (you have to drill and tap a hole for it, the others have holes already there) adjusts the sear engagement (2nd "stage" length).... Don't make it too short or the gun will bump-fire.... Polish the sear contact points and the trigger is pretty good....

PG, I think that you'll be pleased with your .22 Disco. I have one too. With AA 16 gr. pellets, I am averaging 806 FPS over 15 shots which is 22 ft/lbs. Just bought JSB 18 grain big'uns and will chrony them later this spring (I'm in AZ right now). It's a fun gun and pretty accurate once you get to know the trigger.

I believe the two in the back of the trigger guard are 1/2" and the one on the bottom is 3/8 in length. The size and thread pitch for all three is SAE 4-40.
