My second purchase today was my new M712 Mauser Broomhandle. This thing is like a brick. It is rock solid full metal construction with a solid metal full drop out magazine. It is very well mad and quite heavy in your hand. The only plastic is on the faux wood grips. It fires full auto or semi-auto and fires steel BBs. It features full blow back, a realistic functioning selector switch and safety. One thing that it lacks is a last-shot lock-open feature. The rear sight is fully adjustable and the accuracy is decent. Semi-auto handling is good and accuracy is about what you would expect. Full auto is very rapid fire and the barrel rises very quickly so you want to use short bursts only. It is a bit of a gas hog - around 60 shots is about the max I can get- 3 mags worth. Despite a few shortcomings, this gun is sure to put a smile on your face. it is fun as hell to shoot and makes a really nice plinker. This solid pistol gets an 8/10 from me.

An absolute riot!. A full magazine gone in under two seconds in full auto. Begs the question, "why didn't they put a higher capacity mag on this baby?" I didn't use mine enough to discover for myself, but some owners have said that full auto is brutal to the gun innards, hence there have been reports of a short lifespan for a gun used regularly on full auto.

I wondered about that possibility myself. It's literally BRAAAAAAAP and you are empty. Much higher rate than the full auto UZI. Firing shurt bursts of Full Auto fire probably reaults in a lot less wear and tear than doing a full mag dump every time.

You rate it as an 8/10, what is missing for it to be a 10?

You can’t buy a single airgun for everything. Golfers use many different clubs, airgunners need more than one gun

Lock open on empty like the semi-auto only version is the main issue. It is also a little unbalanced - front heavy when the mag is inserted although that helps to reduce rise when firing full auto.
