Post subject:  Diana Chaser first impression ~

I buy my guns usually based on how it looks... And the Chaser, especially the Camo Chaser is what I want at the first sight on it!

It's happy and lucky that Wes got these guns for sale and I got the full kit from Wes which being shipped and arrived in a very quick manner.

After tried a few shots to see how loud it is and I already turned it to rifle mode now. That's what I want at the very beginning ~

It shoots pretty accurate out of the box. However I didn't shoot it much yet not only because I have another gun (a HW35E) arrived at the same time but also because I found some problem of the Chaser. Maybe it's new and still have some bugs like the beta version programs.

I noticed following the manual to change it from pistol to rifle, I should be able to move the rear notch sight to the barrel band but obviously the pistol rear sight is not for installing on the barrel band ~ so it's very hard to use the stock open sight on the rifle mode with shoulder stock as you got very close eye relief distance between your eye and the rear sight.

And Wes got you covered ~ I just have the gentleman sent me a compatible Chaser rear sight for barrel band and it's on the way. So if you are going for a rifle mode Chaser from Wes and want to use open sight, don't forget to ask for this. It caused me a very good price to have this extra sight shipped to me as I am the one found this bug ~ [emoji38]

ppl usually will scope this gun as its power is high enough for some longer distance shots... I don't have spare scope for it at the moment and right now I put a red dot on it. Looks pretty good, but dot sight looks like a star in my eye, so I didn't shoot it too much... My eye will get tired too easy while using the dot sights....

Don't mind I put the Chaser to roast ~ The Chaser has obviously marks as a made in China product ~ [emoji38] You have to fine tune it before it can perfectly fits your imagination about what's in your mind ~

The trigger of the Chaser actually is very good. Not the best, but at least not comparable by the 2240~ but you need some time to adjust it to the 'sweet spot'.

In adjusting the trigger and before I get it done, I actually thought about 'do I get a defective trigger assembly' a few times~ And I also searched the Internet, watched YouTube... But actually you only need to turn that single adjustment screw around and around, until you find what you want ~ ( maybe some rounds, it's fine ~ ;-) )

Barrel looks a tight fit to the CPHP pellets, you need to give some extra effort to push the pellet in with the bolt. And I found out the best design for the extend out longer bolt is you can push the bolt in by pushing it on the bolt's rear end instead of pushing the bolt handle ~

ppl always say the bolt handle on the left side is a revolution they had been waiting for a long time but Crosman never compromised to that. But I instantly found out this may not be a very good change as while you pull the trigger, the shake of the gun when shooting will bring up the bolt handle, I am not sure if this would cause some leaking, but when shooting my 2240, I always put my right hand thumb on the handle to keep it in locking position. And I have no way to do so on the Chaser....

Talk about changing barrel. Please be noted a small o ring which should be put on the end of the barrel would probably stick on the breech while you remove the barrel... So be careful not to lost it or double feed the o ring when you swapping the barrels ~

Don't know if disassemble the gun to do an initial check / service is a good way to go as this one is still very new, and not much info you can found in the Internet... Just afraid I can't put the thing back together ~ [emoji38]

In general it's a very good gun that worth the money very much ~ and it comes with a nice soft bag with polyfoam inside however once you turned the gun into rifle mode, you can't put it back into the bag any more ~

And the CO2 loading window to show you if a CO2 capsule was put inside the tube is very handy and helpful.

And the storage compartment in the grip for you to store a spare CO2 capsule added some bonus to the gun ~

Plus dove tail rail, steel breech, under rail on the barrel band, treaded muzzle cap ( which you can remove the cap and tread in other stuff like muzzle brake?!) etc etc just gave you too much add on values~

Let me know your experience once you got your Chaser too ~

Cheers~ Merry Christmas!ImageImageImageImage

Nice pics! That is a good thing to mention about the little barrel oring, as it's easy to lose.

Wes

I like the Chaser pistol but wish it had fibre optic sights like I changed my 2240 to. My old eyes go blurry with no fibre optics when indoors. Chaser feels good in the hand and shoots well. Like most of my pistols I shoot it for an hour when I get it (then shoot the rest of my pistols that day) then they just sit in the pistol rack forever more. Love my scoped rifles. If you can not see where you hit through your scope, time for a new scope. :) :)

You'll have to ressurect it with a carbine stock and a red dot sight or 3-9x scope=)

Does the pistol have anchored sights, part of the frame perhaps or are they removable. You should be able to buy sights from a number of outfits
like Cabales or maybe Brownells - if removable.

No reddot because that's what my two P17's are for. One for each of my in house ranges. Two shooting ranges don't share guns or targets.

The front sight is pretty much part of the barrel. It is molded plastic that fits on super tight over the end of the barrel with a flat on the bottom that matches a flat on the bottom of the barrel.

Yes was thinking a true pistol scope one day. Want to get my full power Airhawk shooting good first. No fun shooting tennis ball size groups at 30 feet. Driving me nuts.

I agree with you whole heartedly, the chaser is fantastic value. Especially if you compare it to the crosman 2240 which i imagine many of us have done. For the price of the repeater breech for a 2240 alone you could by both a chaser and a 2240... and yes, the 2240 has infinitely more options when it comes to customization but honestly i dont think most people are going crazy modding their 2240s especially once they realize how expensive it can be.

Now the interesting thing is that when i got my chaser months ago i was in love with it and couldnt put it down... i only ordered the pistol as i dont like the shape of the stock, however i think yours looks amazing in that camo print!... but now for some reason ive gravitated back to my 2240 and would rather shoot that over the chaser, even though my 2240 is basically stock. Im not sure why though because i definitely do like the chaser. Maybe it simply comes down to comfort, the chaser as a pistol is quite large and doesnt fit in my hand nearly as well as the 2240 does... i also dont like that the safty for the chaser is physically on the trigger, to me that doesnt seem like the most logical place for a safty but maybe thats just me?

On a side note, i did just recently receive an Artemis CR600W and have been putting it through its paces(its awesome so far!). And i think that it could definitely be compared to the chaser in rifle form... which i cant really do because i only have the chaser in pistol form, but put it this way eveything i dont like about the chaser pistol is addressed in the CR600W rifle. Which is maybe a strong argument for people to purchase the full chaser kit instead of just the pistol.

[emoji38] I have a 1322 and a 2240, plus the Chaser, actually I never seriously shoot these guns in pistol mode ~

Chaser's safety doesn't concern me a lot... It's on safe-off all the time. [emoji38] Maybe it's not an auto safety, so where to put it is not very important. But I agreed it's a bit tricky to engage / dis-engage, I need to turn the gun to face up the trigger ( either side depends on it's status) and use my nail to push the safety down ...

I'm waiting on my Chaser to arrive in the mail. I have a rookie question. Can you shoot it out of the box or do you have to clean the barrel first?
