Real M1 Carbine didn't have bolt hold either. So the lack of it, is realistic.

The shot count was brought up a few times, 2 are SMGs and automatic, with longer mags to hide co2. The Carbine doesn't. Only had a factory 15rd mags.

Good review by HAM.

I have one of these, BB M1 Carbines with a wood stock. Got it in the Spring of 2019. Probably the 1st wood stock version in Canada. S/N is 000000375, so it is one of the first ones made.

I would agree with all the comments made in the review, both positive & negatives.

I would say other than no locking back on the last shot, the gun is perfect. An glad I paid extra for the real wood furniture.

But the weak link in it is the magazine. I bought 2 spare magazines with the gun. And have experienced broken followers on all of them, and the loading spring popped out once. But Air Venturi was very accommodating at sending out replacement followers. And they are easy to replace, if you have the right punch (I had to buy one, but wasn't expensive at Princess Auto). Also, part of the the CO2 seals fell out of the CO2 chamber when removing the cylinder. But only with Crosman CO2. Did not happen when using Umarex CO2. So as tech support at Air Venturi suggests, only use Umarex CO2 or similar. And sometimes the last BB in the mag will not shoot, unless you recock the gun.

But still a great replica airgun. A must have for any WWII or military airgun collector.

Nice action and realism, and good blowback action. And shoots very accurate right out of the box, especially considering it is a smooth bore BB shooter. i did not need to touch the sights.

I bought an authentic replica M1 carbine sling & oiler, and it really adds to the look.

Another review on the M1 Carbine by Andy @ AAR.

So if you buy one, make sure you buy an extra mag or two, as you are going to break the BB follower, and will take a couple of weeks to get the replacement.

You can add the magazine pouch to the buttstock.

This is my 1944 Inland ( Division of General Motors ) It has the M2 pot belly stock, and when I got it, it also had 30rd mags, and the ventilated handguard. Maybe repurposed for Korea.

They did a pretty good job, including the bolt, safety and gas lever.
