Best is an impossible achievement. Heavy gun, lite gun, long gun, short gun? Wood, synthetic, small bore, big bore? Hand pump friendly? If I was to buy a new gun today in Canada I would by a Kral Bigmax X. being .25 Cal, it is small cal for my requirements but with a heavy pellet or slug it would do. When I am ready to buy at the end of December it may be out of stock or a new gun better for my requirements may be available. 3 Months ago the Hatsan Carnivore was available but I waited too long. 6 Months ago I purchased a Kral in 22 cal instead of 25 cal because there was no local stock of 25 cal pellets, bad decision.

Yesterdays decisions, are tomorrows mistakes. Oh, the endless pursuit of perfection.

Yeah~ the subject should change to 'if you got 1000$, which PCP you would buy'...

I am too bad in following the budget... So I always spend more than the budget when making purchase....

I have the 1000$, I would buy another nice springer ~ [emoji38] [emoji38]

For PCP only, stretch the budget a little bit, our forum store have nice HW100 one of the PCPs you would never regret buying...

IMHO,
One of the most underrated budget PCP rifles would be the CZ-200 available through the forum store (https://www.airgunforum.ca/store/produc ... cts_id=209). Rifle, ammo, optional multi-shot magazine, basic scope, case and tax should come in under a Kilo-buck. Not to mention these sweet little numbers have been discontinued and time to purchase one is of the essence.

Cheers!

You can also stretch your budget by buying a nice used rifle.

Agreed~

Although I don't like the trigger too much (need more time and experiments to adjust it to my liking and read it can be tuned to a great trigger) , but the cz200s color laminated I bought from forum store is definitely a keeper to me and love it so much~ Image

For $1000 you can buy a lower end PCP and customize it how you like.

In that price range I'd wait to see how the Canadian version of the Air Venturi Avenger fairs. Quite favorable reviews states side.

Too many choices these days for PCP, and the budget is relatively generous.
We need to know what you're going to shoot with it to refine suggestions, so, target or hunting, 10m or 30m, or 50m, squirrels or groundhogs, etc.
In addition to the above mentioned options, here are a couple more:
Benjamin Discovery, two calibres and a package with a pump:

And here is a good deal on a high end HW110:

The Discovery is old school, but lots of tuning options available and easy to hand pump to 2000 psi so it's a good starter package IMO.

The HW100's at $1,299 are certainly top of the line.
For something like the Aselkon MX9 in .25cal. you would have a $400.00 left over for other "stuff".
