Quote: Caliber: .72 caliber Barrel lengths: 16, 24, and 32 inches Weight: 12 pounds Velocity: 870 fps with 850-grain pellet Energy: 1500 fpe Single shot 11mm dovetail rail Quote: The Zeus is an air-hungry gun, and between the high-fill pressure and air consumption over three to four shots, it’s probably not the best option for informal plinking or target shooting. Quite the best! |

Quite an excellent big game rifle, indeed. For most NA game, the 1 1/4ounce round ball (545gr.) is all that would be necessary, as long as the vel. was up around 900fps to 1,000fps. Max range would be under 100yards. I am talking about ALL game animals here. The 440gr. HP is only just over an ounce & being HP, would not be suitable for game other than up to deer and normal black bears. I would want more, for the outsized black bears of Haida Gwaii. For grizzlies - I'd draw the line at my 14 bore rifle, that has a LOT more power. As to the Zeus, I'd want no less than a 20" to 24" bl. |
