Thanks for the heads up.

I bought one today.

Was originally on the fence about this modern version of the AK. More like the AK 74M, than the cold war AK 47, that I would have preferred.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AK-74#/me ... rifles.png

But for the price & free shipping, who can resist.

Rumor has it that Umarex will eventually come out with a cold war version of AK 47 in it's Legends line but that might be a couple of years.

Had to buy it now. Who knows what the airgun rules will be in a couple of years.

Will be interesting to compare with my DPMS, Legends MP40 & M1A1, and SA Uzi.

compare the AK1 to an AK12 or 15.

any Legends version of any gun may be more realistic with field strip ability?, more realistic bolt action? licensed labelling? etc...
..but then it wouldn't be 229.99$ haha

This Crosman so like the AK-12 or AK-15,
that i can see where the AK-1_ nomenclature came from.

90 degree gas port
front sight mounted on gas port
rails galore
finger grooves on the mag
foldable & adjustable stock
sling mount points

the AK1 nudges 8 lbs as the reelsteel does,
has a 28rnd BB mag (vs 30rnd bullet mag)
..but the AK1 sends them at 1400 rpm (vs the AK12's 700rpm )

i can't wait to trick it out tactical-style!

it would be great if pete could camo it. 8)

i hope ours got in the mail today. :)

got to the woods yesterday on a brisk wind cool kinda day....

i'm trying to get my 8 lb gun up to 10 so it's sporting an under-rail laser, strobe/flashlight on the driver's side and a straight up flashlight on the right. on top is a red dot. and fore-grip that features those pop-out legs that transforms it to a bi-pod.

...wrapped in my patented mtn. bike tire tube rubber grip cover, of course.
it clears the long mag no problem.

there are 84 DIMPLES on the 'flash-hider' which totally detracts.

so they've been drilled out w 7/64" bit. 8)

big enough to let light play thru it at certain angles, yet small enough to allow some bevel around the hole.
..and at any angle, they black out as there's no plastic to reflect light. (ala the D I M P L E S i left around the base)

the 'flash-hider' is held forward and away from the barrel by 2 beefy o-rings.

shooting:

my first mag felt weak, semi auto felt crisp for 3 shots but i could hear it slowing as i dumped the next 25. t'was a cool-ish day, hoodie temps. i was sure to load FIRST first and follow with the right one.

don't know why i did, but i then released/removed the right CO2, and re-installed another, adding it to the FIRST still in position. and it shot crisp clean and hard. aiming was spray and pray as i didn't sight in the iron sights or the red dot nor the laser. but with 28 flying i was able to ignite 2 of the 3 Firebird® Airflash Targets grouped together on a tree.

still to figure if i can..
- just run one CO2 (ala Steel Storm)
- run one full and the other empty? and which? if i were to run and empty two...
and then only wanted to run one full one......
should it be on the left side (the FIRST side) or the installed on the right?
- and do i run the risk of 'freezing' the valve if i do something backwards?

..and (how) is the butt stock removable?

thanx Raman for the good, well packaged shipping and covering the freight! at +8 lbs, and being a BIG box,
i appreciate it.

Leon
