Can someone please clarify some of the other associated fees or requirements with shooting FT other then the obvious equipment and transportation... Examples: Range memberships if any... Memberships for insurance purposes to such organizations as Canadian Shooting Sports/National Firearms Association Shooting day course fees, that sort of thing.....TIA |

Currently, there are no separate range fees associated with participating in a CAFTA Field Target match, nor are there membership fees for for the individual or club. It is a very good idea to belong to an organization like CSSA, SFC, or the OFAH for their excellent insurance coverage of you, where ever you shoot. If you intend to join a gun club in the future, I would suggest joining the CSSA, as most gun clubs require membership in that organization and it will simplify it for the club if you are already a member. |

Memberships for insurance purposes to such organizations as Canadian Shooting Sports/National Firearms Association Shooting day course fees, that sort of thing.....TIA There is a match fee that each of the shooters at the Field Target competition pay on the day of the shoot. This helps pay for awards and/or facility rental fees. I'm pretty sure each person paid $20 per match at Port Colborne this season, and I think the Elmira matches are the same. In the case of special matches that may included a supplied meal following the match, or a two day event, registration for the match will be slightly more then the standard $20. If Elmira is a different price, maybe one of the other FT shooter can chime in. NOTE: The first time you come out and shoot Field Target, admission is FREE for that match! Come out and give FT a try! |

The fee at the Waterloo FT Club in Elmira was $25 for regular matches during the 2007 season. Members of the Elmira Rod & Gun Club pay either $10 or $15 for each match. I am not positive that you shoot free in your first match at Elmira. Port's fee is a flat $20 for everyone. The first match you shoot is definitely free unless you are CJN. I think he somehow ended up paying for his first match, but we will make it up this season. Tim |

Ha, ha. I better confirm with George about "first FT match is free" applying at Waterloo/Elmira. If not, new shooters can send their receipt to me and I will reimburse them! Looks like I have a credit on my Port account anyway to help pay for 1 new Elmira shooter if necessary, lol. |
