There are currently two venues. Elmira (closest to you) and Port Colborne.
There are some fires starting in the skunkworks to get a couple of more
places to shoot, but it is in the early stages. If a group of people are
interested in FT and they cannot get enough Gamo or home-made targets
together, there are some discussions that are going on about trying to get
a few of us, who have a number of targets, to come out to a spot that is
legal to discharge firearms (private or club) and set up or augment a
match. There is certainly a need for one spot east and one north of
Toronto to be focal points for groups to gather. If there is a place near
the London/Chatham area, that would be a great spot as well.

I used to travel as far as Sault Ste. Marie, Sudbury, and Ottowa for major
IPSC pistol matches where my wife and I stayed overnight, and as far as
Woodstock, Barrie, Kinmount, and Brockville for single day matches. I
can tell you that Brockville was near the limit for a single day trip as the
three hour tour to get there and then the same afterwards was quite a
strain. Of course, I have gone as far as going to Syracuse NY to shoot a
match and returned on the same day, but I paid for it, OH did I pay for
it. Come to think of it, so did Suprmatic. I missed that road trip this year
and it looks like it is on for this year, YAH.

Keep us informed, we might be able to travel.

Allan, the Elmira venue which is just north of Waterloo should be close to that 45 min. range.

The have Saturday field target matches tentatively booked for April 26th, May 24th, August 9th and November 1st.

There have been quite a few people well under 18 that compete in matches. Most have had their parents at the event competing or supervising. Some adult shooter could take responsibility and you would be squadded with them for the match. Now this is run by a member of the Elmira Rod and Gun Club and I would not want to speak for them. If a parent will be there, no problem. If not, you would have to ask the match director at the event. I will check in to this for you and get back to you on PM.
