I feel I could make my HW97K a better shooter by installing the set back trigger from Rowan.

They have 2 models ,one is a curved setback and the other is a straight model.. Any opinions or preferances...

I'm a little curious as to how a set back trigger will make your 97k a " better shooter", newlife. The Record trigger group has a very solid reputation for being just about the best on the market.

Are you looking to make the rifle more comfortable to shoot because you are not getting good pad placement on the trigger blade?

My TX 200 came with the Rowan Target trigger installed so I can't comment on how it compares to the original trigger blade. What I can say is that Rowans products are VERY well designed and produced.

Hello

I have just install the extra set back curved trigger in my 97K. Made a nice difference in squeezing off the shot. I have smallish hands and found the 97k to be a long reach from factory. After I pull through the first stage its just right for the final let off. If your hands are average sized, then I would not get the extra set back one. They are a real nice piece of work and looks a lot better than the factory one.

Long reach, or long stock causes problems with accuracy, definitely. My 97K should be here on Thursday and have 500 to 800 pellets through it by supper time, Friday.

500-800!!! I thing my arm would fall off.lol I was able to make clove leaf groups at 25 yds after 40 pellets. I am now using H&N FTT and I'm able to get a small raged hole after 300. This gun will make you look good. I find the grip is fatter than most rifles I own (air and powder), which I think contributes to the longer reach. Enjoy your new purchase. So far the Field Target Trophy from H&N are shooting the best, but JSB Diablo Exact worked well. These are the two pellets I would try first in it.

Your looking at roughly 6.6hrs (straight shooting, no break) to shoot 800 pellets with a cycle time of 30sec per shot, which will be tough...I shot my TX so much when I got it I had the equivalent of "rug burn" on my arm from the recoil of the gun :lol: That was only 600-700 pellets in 6.5hrs :)

I've been thinking new trigger blade too. Keep us posted.
I have gone down from shooting empty .45 cal cases to .22 at 25m with my 97. I think a set back trigger would help me too.
