I whipped this up yesterday while it was cold and miserable out. simple but worked good with my daisy red ryder target tester rifle at 18 feet. i grinded down one of my steel targets so it would be light enough to flip up. attach target to a hinge (that i grinded a bit to cut down on some more weight.) which is attached to the board -- shoot it when it,s hanging down-- it flips up and sticks to a small but super strong rare earth magnet embedded on opposite side-- then shoot it while it,s up and it will drop back down -- and repeat. this is a fast prototype i threw together to see if it would work. i,ll make a good one at some point when i have time with maybe ten targets on one board . I'll attach the board behind a same length of v steel to protect it.

Nice going Pete. I might have to try something like this.
Looking forward to seeing the pics when it's finished.

thanks t. I had to keep grinding these smaller until I found the flip up weight. because before that they just flopped back and forth. when I got the desired weight I wanted -- my daisy red ryder flipped them right up to the magnet. so if that low powered gun can do it all of my other ones should have no problem. if I ever get it done nice and all painted I,ll do some pics.

remember allheart I told you I cut all my targets from those electrical plate covers with a grinder. this is one I had already. when I get a chance and some time. I,m going to cut about 6 or ten of them out for this project. I can get 2 targets out of each cover. I'll do some pics this weekend. here is what I use. I draw the image of the target I,m going to use on a piece of thin cardboard--cut it out and then trace it onto the plate cover with magic marker and then cut it out with a grinder.

Did something similar, using old spoons.

how did it work. did they flip up easy enough to stick to the magnet (if you used magnets). I had to grind my test one down a lot to get it light enough to flip up.

Didn't use magnets. Just a pull string to bring them back in the up position.

ya I just made a string pull one last summer. I have the string hooked up on the ceiling over to where I sit and shoot. and it hangs down. when I shoot all 6 targets I pull on it and they all pop up. it,s a pretty good one.

moving along --slowly. sucks when I have to work 5 days a week. I don,t get much time to work on this or anything on weekend. I made and cut 10 targets out but I,m only using six for now. I,ve got all the hinges grinded and my magnets in. next week paint and maybe make a frame and hope it works. the targets are approx. one and a half inches big

Nice work Pete. It's so satisfying when something comes together and actually works. lol
I wish we could get some quality metal spinners close by.
Check out this website in Britain. It may give you some ideas, it did for me. This is what we need in Canada.
