However, I still feel that unless the pellet is actually tumbling, I don't see how the bore could effect the pellet <20 yards up to 4" like leadslinger is getting. To me, that is either a really loose barrel or something to do with optics. But... While my understanding of mechanics is relatively advanced I would like to think - I've spent a lot of years in industry operating machinery, in maintenance, and millwright - my understanding of aerodynamics and ballistics is something on the order of null... I can only approach the subject with what would seem as common sense to me. Okay, well it wasn't quite 4", more like 2.72". Wasn't the scope. Guess the barrel has some wiggle. I tightened the barrel pivot bolt, And the action screws. Took about 20 ish or so round of shotgun patterning, that I could find a grip that I could repete the same over and over. Then it started to go well. Got it down to 1.5 ish" If you don't count the flier. If I can get under one inch, I consider that a person best for springer. I'm a action pistol shooter, not really a precision person. |

I keep re-reading chevotas guide. At first I couldn't make heads or tails of it. It's a HUGE amount of info to take in at once. But now that I'm finding solutions to a lot of my problems a lot of what he writes is really starting to make sense and I'm finding the info very useful. He's very detailed and many of those details are critical. You really can't skip over anything. Or else you really don't fix anything. These springers really are pieces of machinery. The better tuned it is, the smoother it will run. And each aspect relies on the other. If you skip over something chances are what you did fix will have limited improvement. |

Good point, thanks for sharing your journey! Hopefully you eventually find some success and answers, and someone else gets helped along the way. Sent from my LG-M154 using Tapatalk |

That's great! Rats in your yards should be moving to other home asap ~ And nice one to shoot in the wind gust! I tried to do this before, but I didn't see the result of how the wind gust affects the pellets.... It just affected me that I can't hold the gun, the muzzle just pointing here and pointing there, standing pose with a little bit support from the wall, I think the best I can do is just leaving the hole on the paper.... Maybe your target paper just a little bit too small.... lol Sent from my LG cellphone |

Lol I used to print the big 10 ring, then determined it was a waste. Now I use 3 ring cause evidently that's all I need. I'm actually really curious what this rifle will do at 50 yards now. But even zoomed in to 9 I start to have a hard time seeing and zeroing in at 30 yards. |

lol~ nope nope ~ A bigger paper is for me to shoot in the wind, as if the paper too small, my fliers won't hit it at all ~ because I found the wind just pushing my arms around, so the muzzle of my gun just point to everywhere as I don't have the bench, sand bag etc and just leaned on the wall standing.... Had some time this morning after dropping the wife off at work before I had to go. This never gets old... Had to zero a few shots then about a dozen shots on target. Rebuilt Benjamin classic .22 at about 18 yards, jsb 18.1g shooting around 620 fps. 1/2" group. Also pegged a spent .22 powder casing square in the kisser. Folded right around the pellet. Find times.

Thanks Wes. I still really want to get a better scope. Haha. I suck at commitments and priorities. My machine shop and rebuilding my lathe has taken total precedence over any extra moneys. This scope works and holds a zero, albiet, it's a piece of junk, it works for now. |

Very nice accuracy for a springer. |

Thank you. I did a LOT of work to get it that way. |
