Indoor Challenge

#1 Post by Rob27 »

Hi everyone. I mentioned in a different thread that I was looking for a something other than shooting bullseye targets in my 9yd basement. I do not want to have pellets or BBs bouncing around so cannot shoot cans or reactive targets. I found a few 10 yard or 10 meter competitions but do not have enough room to shoot those.
I found a bunch of 6 yard competitions and have started shooting those but wanted to share this challenge with everyone on this forum. I found this action shooting challenge to be a silly amount of fun.
All you need is:
- Some type of multi-shot pistol (able to shoot 5 shots in 10 seconds).
- The stopwatch on your phone (you can download a different free timer if you want that gives you a countdown to the start of the 10 seconds which I found helpful).
- a 6 yard range

I have attached a PDF below that includes the target, rules, and scoring.
This is meant to be a fun excuse to shoot and have some fun, I hope some of you might enjoy it as much as I am.

The target and process was borrowed from the UBC site. If you enjoy this challenge, feel free to sign up there and post your scores against others.

Anyone up for a challenge?

Well that did not work....
Apparently the forum does not allow posting of PDF files.
Anyone have a suggestion on how I can make this available? I do not have a website to share it on.

It looks like tapatalk will host the file outside of the forum.
Let me know if this works.

Here is my target from my first posted score in November.
Yes... I missed one shot on 2 different strings from a range of 6 yards!
I ran out of time so only shot a couple practice targets before this one.
Gave myself lots of room for improvement!

Looks fun. I was never good at the rapid fire portion of our events. Maybe the problem is I never practiced at home. An excuse to buy a lp50? hehe.

Thanks for sharing. I might give it a try if I can get my lazy butt back to the basement range.
I have some airguns.

Yeah, when I first saw this I thought 'No problem, 5 shots in 10 seconds, targets only a couple inches apart.' I even held up my hand and imagined bang, bang... again no problem.
Then I tried it and experienced my usual wobbling around plus trying to time the long and bumpy trigger pull on the only multi shot pistol that I have...
Suddenly 10 seconds goes by pretty quickly!

Were you able to download the PDF? I have not tried to share a file this way before.

Happy shooting!

Good idea ) I am willing to take part, but some time later. I have 5-shot pistol, but it shots metal balls and extremely heavy trigger about 5 kg. Not good for this type of challenge.

Still grinning!
Picked my easiest cocking springer that is not currently torn apart. That is my Crosman Phantom .22
Took 1 shot to calibrate the shot timer, then jumped in.
Started with gun cocked and loaded held 2 handed low ready.
Had 4 more pellets set out on a table beside me.
First string 44.69 seconds score = 39
2nd string 43.5 sec = 37
3rd string 39.02 sec = 36
Faster is clearly not better!!

Great suggestion Bob!
