Many have had pretty good success with the Vortec kit that allows you to get anywhere from sub 12 ft/lb up to 15 ft/lb with spacers. I have my 20 cal TX tuned to about 650 fps or just under 13.5 ft/lb, using a Vortec kit. It shoots smooth and remained accurate. One of the dealers on the forum carries them and may chime in with some details. |

My new 97KT Synthetic chronographs just over 12ft-lb with H&N 8.49grain FT pellets. It is a lot of precision (and weight) for the money. I think my only heavier rifle is a bull barreled varmint rifle. If I was hunting instead of FT, I wouldn't buy the thumbhole stock again as it's awkward disengaging the safety. The synthetic stock doesn't come with the adjustable buttpad found on the wooden stock versions and it is a chore to fit one as the buttstock, while substantial and very solid feeling, is actually hollow. I really like the look of the blue laminate stock and if both had been available for me to handle before buying, I likely would have gone for the non-thumbhole laminate. |

Hi Guys I've been wondering The HW97 is a much lighter gun than my TX200. This gun is heavy, so hinking that I should get a lighter spring gun that shoot around 12 f/pounds straight out of the box. Anyone has any ideas. Please let me know thanks Biagio |
