That's a nicely set up gun. Over 700 fps with Express pellets is quite fast. FWB 300 rifles sure are nice shooters, as I have been discovering myself.

Nice rifle - the 300's.

I don't know how they'd be further out, but the RWS R-10's are VERY accurate in my M150 FWB 10 meter rifle - scoped of course. I found my indoor silhouette scores were as good with that rifle, as they were with the PCP.

Benched at 25 yards, those FN RWS pellets would make about a 1/4" to 3/8" hole for 5 shots, group after group. The rifle ran an even 600fps with the 8.2gr. R-10's.

The .451" JSB Cometa RN pellets also did as well but the speed dropped to 590fps. This rifle has new seals.

These guns will shoot many pellets accurately out to 25 or even 35 yards, but he flat head match pellets loose velocity too quickly because of the low BC. They loose stability and accuracy. If I do my part, this gun will put the Express pellets into a pretty tight group at 50 to 55 yards, certainly well within a 1.5" hit zone that would be set at that range.

It shoots the RS well if I flare the skirts, but the energy is not as high and it does not have much momentum at the lower speeds on long targets. I have gone through a lot of pellets to find this one that works and only one batch number works to give that velocity. The newer batches of Express only fly at about 685 to 690 fps.

The crazy thing is that another 300 may like a totally different pellet. Even to two I have are different.

It's an interesting relationship between gun and pellet. In your gun a certain batch of Express gets a higher velocity than others. In my FWB 300, spruced up by the same airgunsmith who worked on yours, I get about 630 fps with JSB 8.44 grain pellets. The Express pellet is slower and has greater ES. The RS is faster but again with greater ES. Each rifle can indeed be very different from another in how it responds with the pellets used.
