Just as the title says. Would this pellet be too heavy for my phantom .22 495fps?

NO, it might shoot like 380-400 FPS.

Gonna be a pretty loopy trajectory, but if they're accurate from your gun, and you've got enough mildots in your reticle for holdover to 50ish yards; they could be the ticket. . . .

Are you currently getting good groups from them?

A heavy pellet like the 16.7 grain Penetrator may well have a very loopy trajectory indeed.

A lot of sub-500 fps air rifles in .22 shoot quite a bit less than 500 fps to begin with. To illustrate, consider that a Diana 240 .177 sold by the Forum Store gives close to 500 fps, while the .22 gives about 430 fps. Both the .177 and .22 air rifles would appear to use the same spring. If the sub-500 fps Phantom .177 and Phantom .22 use the same spring, then the .22 will have a much lower MV than 500 fps.

Yeah, my Phantom chrony at between 380-410 with 14.3, and sometimes lucky with a 430-450.
