Assuming 20fpe what pellet weight do most FT shooters use to keep the velocity in an accurate range with a decent trajectory and low susceptibility to a light cross wind.

yep, 8.44gr JSB Exact seems like an all around winner in my eyes. 12gr RWS Hobbies seem super popular as .22 for paper punchers too. Personally i always buy .177 rifles :) 8.44 JSB's ftw :D

Hey guys, I also like the jsb 8.44gr pellet. The pellet would travel at 1,033fps at 20fpe though. I hear that is too fast for best accuracy. According to BB of Pyramid Air it's not the velocity but barrel harmonics. So confusing but I guess it wouldn't be interesting if it was easy.

10.5 gr range ,AA's, JSB or H&N.

I don't shoot FT, but I understood most guys used the 8.44 gr. in the 12 FPE class (at just under 800 fps) and 10.2-10.6 gr. in the 20 FPE class (at around 900 fps).... Using the 8.44 gr. at over 1000 fps puts you in a velocity range where the BC is decreasing and wind drift is significantly worse.... I think a few use the 7.8 gr. JSB Express in the 12 FPE class, if it is accurate in their gun, to bump the velocity up to around 820ish....

I'm a big Jsb fan but I should be more open. The Jsb 10.34gr at 933fps sounds like an ideal choice. What about a Jsb 13.34gr that would fly at 822fps?
Trajectory can be adjusted for but not the inconsistent wind as easily and a heavier pellet should be more stable.

Almost everyone is using the JSB 10.3. Some still use the Crosman premier 10.5, but that is happening less often now since the new die lots are inferior to the older ones that are no longer available. Some like the Baracuda match 10.6 pellets. Some will use the JSB 8.44 if their gun happens to shoot them accurately at very high velocity.

The trick is to find out what works in the gun you have. Guns can surprise you with "their" choice.
