Unfortunately, perpetual motion (burning gas to charge the battery to produce the hydrogen to run the car further than gas alone) does not exist.... If you really want an eye-opener, look up reliable information on Hydrogen powered cars.... They require MORE energy per km. driven than pure electric cars....
Then, of course, there is the recent UBC Paper that states that to replace all fossil fuel use for all vehicles in BC would require 26 more Site "C" sized dams....
.... That doesn't address upgrading the infrastructure to charge all of them, we don't have even close to enough power lines, transformers, etc. to distribute the electricity needed....
