Hello,

I have several Sig's (P226 and P320 M-17) and Umarex MCP.

My Umarex manual recommends a drop of silicone oil on the cannister, whereas no oil is recommended by Sig, seems strange because they are all CO2 powered air pistols.

Just asking what most people do and which oil(s)

Thanks,
SD375

Same~

For CO2 guns not really need silicone oil, but if you have that in hand, no problem~ usually the air compressor oil (W30ND), Pellgunoil which is super expensive to that tiny tube compare to the 16oz fill on the normal compressor oil package, but you really not need much for your co2 guns. Just see what's handy to you...

A drop is a small drop, don't put a big drop on the co2 capsule when you install it...

The oil will be lubing the seals and being blown through the whole internal of where air runs and lube everything on the route...

YepYep, thanks for your feedback.

I use Crosman Silicone Chamber Oil in my Express (manual suggests a drop into chamber every 250ish pellets) and have Crosman Pellet Gun Oil if needed for the CO2 stuff.

Reached out to Crosman customer service about my Vigilante.

For my part, I have been using, for years now, automatic transmission fluid (Dexron V) and so far never had a problem with any seal on any of my gun's, 20+ gun's  .

But, yes I do put oil on my mag seal 8)

Got this from a major air gun manufacturer this morning,

"Regarding your question about adding a drop of Pellet Gun oil to the CO2 canister before installation, it's a common practice among many air gun enthusiasts. While the owner's manual may not explicitly mention it, adding a drop of oil can help maintain the seals and ensure smooth operation of your air pistol over time."

"However, it's essential to exercise caution and moderation when applying oil. Too much oil can lead to over-lubrication, which may result in leaks or performance issues. We recommend using only a small drop on the tip of the CO2 cartridge before inserting it into the air gun."

So, for me probably add a drop every 3rd cannister, along the lines of what I do for my break barrel air rifle, a drop every 250ish pellet.
