Apparently we can order from HarborFreight from Canada even if they don't deliver to my province has anyone tried it?
What was your experience with them?

If they can open up the borders... I have 2 stores about an hour away.

I always hear about people ordering from them but I have never once heard them say how they get their stuff. It's like a secret club.

That would be nice, but how? I went to their website an they only ship to contiguous 48 states+the other 2 if less than 70lbs. Is it a thing where you have to get an address in a border town and drive across to pick up your stuff?

I go there all the time, whenever i'm across the border, nice selections of things but lately with the exchange rate so bad, and our pricing here has improved specially Princess Auto, I have stayed here and shop at Princess, and the return policy at princess is so much nicer.

I would gladly prefer buying here. No echange rate, Canadian seller, I can get right away... what's not to like?

But I looked EVERYWHERE for this and no one seems to carry what I'm looking for.

I'm looking for a wood "machinist tool chest" but don't want to pay Gerstner & Sons money for it (they're on "sale" around 1000$ US VS. the Harbor Freight one at 85$).

https://www.harborfreight.com/eight-drawer-wood-tool-chest-94538.html

I looked at Princess Auto, Home Hardware, Home Depot, Canadian Tire, Lowes, Lee Valley, Amazon.
Only one I found was out of stock at US HomeDepot for 108$ US.

I'm not that dumb, I know the craftsmanship is not going to be the same as the Gerstner and I'm not expecting it either but to store away all my small tools in a big box I can carry.
I'm not interested in a plastic container that houses other plastic containers in a drawer like fashion but that you have to get the whole drawer out to properly lift the cover and access what's inside. I want something with a little more "class", something pretty.

If someone knows where I can get one in Canada or has a sure way to cross the boarder right I'm all ears!

I found this on the redflag deals forum using google but it dates back to 2018... :?

That looks a lot like a machinists tool chest except in wood. I just threw out a metal one last year....

You know what? I was looking all over the place and then it hit me like a brick LEE VALLEY, I was sure I was going to find one there! It might be too expensive but surely they'll have some right? Wrong!
They did have plans to make one! https://www.leevalley.com/en-ca/shop/tools/plans/32761-tool-chest-plan but not a single already built one.

IT IS a machinist tool chest. Down to the small mirror on the top part that is called a machinist mirror.

Almost positive I got this at Princess a few years ago, they may bring them back.

That would be perfect! I'd rather get it at a Canadian store than cross the border to get one.
I would have prefered buying one at double the price from LeeValley than to get one from HarborFreight.
I honestly cannot find one in Canada at a reasonnable price and I'm not paying 3000$ for one either.

If someone knows or has some ideas of where I could look?

I did consider having it shipped to the broker we use at work. But then I wouldn't be able to return it and since the quality control on these can be spotty (there's a reason they're cheap) I'll have to buy it, open it when I get to the car and make sure it's all good before leaving so I don't end up with something I have to return later on. I can deal/fix small details but I don't want to get a broken one either.

This would have been nice, back when I needed it, from Harbor Freight.
