My wife was chasing down some clothes moths that have infested her woolens and decided to clean out the cedar chest. She unearthed a set of Muela knives I had forgotten about, I got them around the late 80s. Anyhow, they are identical to the ones below the big knife is about 13" overall and the small one about 7-1/2". Any idea what the set would be worth?

Thanks for the replies. I will be giving them to my daughter as a graduation present, she will be doing field work and can make use of them. At least I know they aren't worth a fortune and compared to her iPhone, they are not very expensive. LOL. :drinkers:

they are beauties duke. if i was still collecting knives i,d love these ones. what a find in the old clothes chest. when i go through my old clothes all i find is dead moths.

Ha ha, good one. The moths are a bother for my wife as she has taken up fibre arts and collects fleece that she spins into yarn and weaves into rugs, towels, blankets etc. It is akin to our airgun addiction, she owns more spinning wheels and looms than I do airguns; and fleece are akin to pellets. So, she now understands my need for many and new airguns and I support her in acquiring and tuning wheels and looms. There is harmony in the household. But the moths must be controlled. Why the knives were put in the cedar chest i don't know.. and isn't the purpose of cedar chest to keep moths out? :drinkers:

Yes - cedar lined chests were just for preventing the accumulation of moth holes in clothes.

Well apparently, there were no moths in there which is a good thing, but two sweaters had holes. She said she is not convinced the holes were caused by moths, so perhaps the cedar chest is doing its job. I believe her collection of fleece is worth several times more than my pellets so I don't want the moths to ruin any. If you're wondering how much fleece I'm dealing with think about a herd of 50 sheep.. that much. :drinkers:

Look for tiny white rice sized specs in the trunk. Cotton moths in the larvae stages are hard to see, and feed off fabric and hair.
